Jay Wolberg

I build data and AI products from idea to paying customers, and I stay with the customer after launch.

Twenty years across engineering, operations, product and founding: founder of Trading Volatility, former Intel engineering manager, and former CIO of a ~$15M systematic fund.

I've been customer-facing in every role, from Comcast and Intel to my own companies.

Looking for AI product, deployment and customer-facing roles, Bay Area or remote.

Trading Volatility

Founder · Live subscription product

The options market produces far more data than any trader can read. Trading Volatility takes that raw data, about 1M options contracts every trading day, and processes it into useful metrics, analysis and visualizations: about 60M decision-ready signals for traders and AI agents.

Before building, I validated demand with willingness-to-pay surveys and a Google Sheets MVP. The product then went where customers already work: the web, an API, chatbots and an MCP server that AI agents can query directly.

It's a live subscription business today, and I still own its customer success and implementation.

Global Pulse

Designer & builder · Live

Global Pulse watches news, shipping, currency markets and infrastructure around the world, and flags unusual events that could signal supply-chain, infrastructure or market risk.

A team of AI agents analyzes the events worth a closer look. Simple rules pick which events those are, which keeps costs down, and a dedicated skeptic agent pushes back on any conclusion the evidence doesn't support.

The result is analysis that stays affordable and sticks to what the evidence shows.

OptionAce

Designer & builder · Live product

ETFs can hide overlapping holdings, so a portfolio can be less diversified than it looks. OptionAce reads a user's brokerage holdings, looks through their ETFs to show real diversification, and finds the covered calls and cash-secured puts they could be selling, each with a suggested position size.

Then it places the trades for them: one-click orders, triggered automations, or plain-English trading agents. The key product decision was how orders get built. Every order comes from a deterministic parser, never from a model's guess, so even a plain-English agent can't improvise a trade.
